Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Forgetting water intake. Note how much the pet drank, especially for cats and rabbits.
  • Skipping behavior notes. Owners want to know if the pet seemed happy, anxious, or tired.
  • Vague medication logs. Write the exact time and dose, not just "gave meds."
  • Not noting accidents. If there was a potty accident or vomiting, include it.
  • Leaving out the date. Always check that the report date is correct before printing.

First-Time Sitter Walkthrough

You're watching a dog named Max for the weekend. Here's how to use this report:

  1. Max's owner fills in his details and saves the template.
  2. They share the link with you. You open it and see Max's feeding schedule, medications, and instructions.
  3. Each day, you click "Generate Report" to get a fresh template with today's date.
  4. You fill in the time-stamped sections as you go: "8:05 AM — ate all breakfast," "10:00 AM — 20-minute walk, no issues," "12:30 PM — drank water, seemed relaxed."
  5. At the end of the day, you print the report or copy the text and send it to the owner.
  6. The owner gets a clear, complete update without having to ask a dozen questions.

Things to Double-Check

  • Medication dosages match what the owner or vet specified.
  • The report date is correct (it uses today's date by default).
  • All feeding times are logged, even if the pet skipped a meal.
  • Water intake is noted at least once during the visit.
  • Any unusual behavior or health concerns are written in the notes section.

Questions & Answers

Can I use this for multiple pets?

Yes. Save a template for each pet, then switch between them using the saved templates dropdown at the top of the form.

Does this work on a phone?

Yes. The layout adjusts for smaller screens. The print button works on mobile browsers too. Use your browser's share menu to save as PDF if needed.

What if my pet has no medications?

Leave the medication fields blank. The generated report will skip the medication section so you don't have empty rows.

Can I share the report with the pet owner?

Use the "Copy Link" button to get a URL with the pet's info pre-filled. The owner can open it, review the template, and print it. You can also print directly and hand over a paper copy.

Is my pet's data stored anywhere?

No. Everything stays in your browser's local storage. Nothing is sent to a server. If you clear your browser data, saved templates will be removed.

Can I edit the report after generating it?

The printed report is a static copy. To make changes, go back to the form, update the fields, and generate a new report.
